Introducing Me and What My Family is Doing

Hi, my name is Amelia Novy. I’m 11 years old and I have 3 siblings. My sister’s name is Lydia. She’s 10 and very outgoing. I have 2 brothers, Bennett and Tanner. They are 8 and 6. My mom homeschools all four of us. Currently my family and I are going to be International Workers with CAMA services which is short for  Compassion and Mercy Associates. CAMA works to reach the poverty and natural disaster areas. My family and I are going to Conakry, Guinea, West Africa which is tropical but has very dirty beaches!

We just sold our house and are working on the paperwork [groan]. In September we will be in the Sonshine apartments in Menasha, WI. These are apartments for missionaries and pastors in transition. Then in January we will be heading into France, and also some public school :{.

What is it like to move away you ask? Well it’s really hard. It’s hard to see all my stuff packed up and moving away from all my friends , but i’m sure it will be worth it. My parents keep telling me, ”Amelia, think of all the things you would miss if we just stayed in the US.” It always gets me thinking, ”What would I miss? My friends? Yes, but also I’d have to stay in Wisconsin my whole life  and I would never learn the French language.

I’m excited to use this blog to share my journey with you. If you want to follow my blog click the subscribe button.

  1. Hi Amelia, thanks for your blog. I hope you enjoy France and Guinea as much as I do. (My son Doug and his family were in Albertville and are now in Conakry.) I look forward to reading your blog (and maybe meeting you in Conakry someday! Jeff Petersen

  2. Amelia, sweet granddaughter, the leaving is very hard but your adventures haven’t really started yet. Trust the Lord to lead you into all the things He has planned for you. It will be amazing! I love you. Pray that I’ll be able to join you on some of your adventures. Love, Mimi
