Summer and Friends

Totally sorry for not blogging for a while it has been crazy. It’s now July and we have been here six months, and by here I mean France.

For the past six months I have been going to school, hanging out with friends, and of course reading. My parents have been going to Language School here in Albertville and are now studying for their tests. We kids have been out of school for a week, well I have and the others were out two days ago.

This past week my friend Karrisa and I have been going and hanging out. Two days ago we went out to go to a book store and get ice cream. It was a really hot day and no one has air conditioners here. The summer days are super hot and we only rely on fans and open windows. We were walking and passed a store when a cold blast of air whooshed out! So we just stood there for a while soaking in the cold air, oh, so glorious!

These are some of my friends that I have met here. This picture was taken at recent sleepover before two of our friends left.

We have met so many amazing people. There are people from all different states, but all of us kids have a few things in common:

1) We all have experienced packing up our home

2) We all have the struggle of learning the language, and finally…

3) We all enjoy ice-cream! Honestly, we are a bunch of normal kids and are here for the ride with our parents.

And now here are some prayer requests. Please pray for my parents to do well on their tests. Also pray for my friends and classmates in school to learn to love Jesus.

That brings an end to my Blog,

Write soon, Amelia Novy

P.s The reason that her face is scribbled is because she cant be seen on the internet.

Introducing Me and What My Family is Doing

Hi, my name is Amelia Novy. I’m 11 years old and I have 3 siblings. My sister’s name is Lydia. She’s 10 and very outgoing. I have 2 brothers, Bennett and Tanner. They are 8 and 6. My mom homeschools all four of us. Currently my family and I are going to be International Workers with CAMA services which is short for  Compassion and Mercy Associates. CAMA works to reach the poverty and natural disaster areas. My family and I are going to Conakry, Guinea, West Africa which is tropical but has very dirty beaches!

We just sold our house and are working on the paperwork [groan]. In September we will be in the Sonshine apartments in Menasha, WI. These are apartments for missionaries and pastors in transition. Then in January we will be heading into France, and also some public school :{.

What is it like to move away you ask? Well it’s really hard. It’s hard to see all my stuff packed up and moving away from all my friends , but i’m sure it will be worth it. My parents keep telling me, ”Amelia, think of all the things you would miss if we just stayed in the US.” It always gets me thinking, ”What would I miss? My friends? Yes, but also I’d have to stay in Wisconsin my whole life  and I would never learn the French language.

I’m excited to use this blog to share my journey with you. If you want to follow my blog click the subscribe button.
